Hogwarts House Psychoanalysis Pt.II : Combined Houses

Gryffinclaw
Gryffinclaws have the mental capacity to be a hero, in a sense. They are smart, daring and ready to take on whatever they can. Unfortunately, their emotions tend to take hold over their logic, and this can cause them to be easily disheartened. They want to believe that essentially, everyone is good, but their fairly cynical Ravenclaw side will often try to deny this, and with this plus their emotional front, they can hit a disastrous point of anger toward society and themselves. Gryffinclaws are dedicated, and while they have the ability to do so much more, they tend to focus themselves on one thing, deeming everything else as unimportant. They will do what needs to be done, but that does not mean they will like it. Gryffinclaws tend to enjoy conflict, if it is intellectual. They will debate day and night if you allow them to. Politicians, surgeons and philosophers are often Gryffinclaws.
Slytherdor
Slytherdors are always in a constant battle with themselves, a bit like an angel and a devil on each shoulder. They truly want to do what is proper for everyone around them, but at the same time they can be selfish and it will blind their view of what the people they love may need. Slytherdors believe that people have the capacity to be good, they just simply don’t care, instead taking and conquering what they can, and they are just fine with that, because they often blend into it themselves. The angel on their shoulder is begging that they try to make change in the world, but the devil is always egging them on to go for what they crave. This doesn’t mean they are wrong in their ways, in fact they are very quick-witted and ready to get things done. Slytherdors are extreme multitaskers and procrastinators, trying to accomplish several things at once and instead forgetting to do all of them. This can be seen as irresponsible to some, but Slytherdors tend to simply shrug it off. However, they do have a very short fuse, so watch what you say or they may go off. Many doctors, company executives and celebrities are Slytherdors.
Gryffinpuff
Gryffinpuffs could almost be said to have hearts of gold, as they see the good in each and every individual. They are very emotional people to the point that they at times do not even know what to do with themselves, instead just feeling the need to cry or scream. This is because their Gryffindor side wants to let out their emotion, but the Hufflepuff in them is too scared of what others would think. Gryffinpuffs are very happy-go-lucky and optimistic, ready to lend a helping hand wherever they may be needed. They are social butterflies, making friends easily. While they love to talk for hours, any negative comments they tend to take to heart, and their Hufflepuff side tends to stop them from speaking up about it, so instead they will wallow in self pity for possibly days. Gryffinpuffs are somewhat spacey and tend to be visual and auditory learners, meaning it may take them a bit before they fully understand something. This does not mean they are in anyway less smart, they are just patient enough to take their time to understand something completely. Many social workers, wedding and party planners and those who work with small children are Gryffinpuffs.
Ravenpuff
Ravenpuffs are constantly contradicting themselves, thinking they have done something completely right and then deciding it is absolutely awful the next minute. They do this with people as well, thinking that everyone is as they seem until their Ravenclaw side speaks up, and they begin to second guess every movement a person makes. Ravenpuffs tend to be quite shy, and if they talk to you they will be friendly; but make no mistake, they are analyzing every single move you make. Ravenpuffs are very academic and later on in life what one would call “work-a-holics” devoting themselves into whatever passion they may have. Ravenpuffs tend to be very creative, observing others and using it in their work. Ravenpuffs shudder at the idea of conflict, avoiding it anyway necessary, usually keeping to themselves to make sure it stays this way. Novelists, musicians and psychiatrists are often Ravenpuffs.
Slytherclaw
Slytherclaws are quick-witted to the point they are dangerous, always thinking and seeing every detail around them. Their cleverness and intelligence is a venomous combination, and they are very good in the art of persuasion and manipulation, and they make sure they always get what they want. That said, that doesn’t mean they are bad people, simply a bit spoiled in their nature and ready to get at any aspect of life they are thirsty for. Conflict is something that is beyond them and they tend to quickly shake off whoever may try to argue with them. If you insist, they can tear you to shreds so quickly you will not even know what happened. Slytherclaws are incredibly intelligent and use that in every aspect of their lives, never stopping to smell the roses. They are constantly driven, so make sure you don’t get in their way, they don’t care much for attachments. If they do care for you however, they will show this with the most protectiveness. Con artists, attorneys and those who work with the government are often Slytherclaws.
Slytherpuff
Slytherpuffs are an odd mix, and they are incredibly indecisive. They are ambitious and driven, but their shy Hufflepuff aspects can sometimes pull them away from what they want. They feel as though they dislike everyone, though they aren’t entirely sure why they do, and at times they can feel that they are an awful person because of this. Slytherpuffs are often angry at themselves for what they do or don’t say, and they are always biting their tongue. They are often quiet, but when they do speak up they say something that is worth your time. They avoid conflict the best they can, but if you insist upon it they will give you one hell of a debate. They are very dedicated to getting what they want, and if they will often stay away from people days at a time researching. They are not fans of social interaction. Painters, journalists and poets are often Slytherpuffs.
Please not this is simply my opinion and it is obviously not applicable to everyone in combined houses, just my assumptions. Please do not be offended by anything, it is not meant to be taken that way. Psychoanalysis of the singular houses are here. (x)

I like these. And my brother is such a Gryffinclaw, in this case, it’s spot on in his case. I’m just inbetween everything.

I feel like I hear, “Well its because I’m a (Insert house here)” a lot. I am proud of the characteristics of my house, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t have traits of another house too. Snape was brave even though he was in Slytherin. We all have a bit of every house.. maybe some a little more.
But can we stop defining ourselves based on houses from Pottermore? It’s getting old.

Haha, I’m just laughing at the serendipity of these and how it’s my brother.

Gryffindor

Gryffindors have a thirst for adventure and are always wanting to lend a hand in the way they feel is the best, so they often have the career choices of adrenaline junkies, but at the same time something that doesn’t take an elongated education. For instance they may often like to be cops, firefighters or enter into a branch of the military. There is the occasional studious Gryffindor who will go for a different path, but the nature of a Gryffindor is often one of impatience, they want to reach their goals and start improving as quickly as they can’t. They want something they can enlist into that is straight to the point, and they can take the rush of it all, in fact they thrive upon it. They have the nerve and stubborness to deal with any blows they are given along the way, and once they get to where they wish to be they will be left standing. Out of all the houses, Gryffindors are probably the least likely to have the desire to go to college, and those that do often go because it is a requirement for something they want, like a sports scholarship.

Hufflepuff

Hufflepuffs do very well in perusing their careers, because they have no problem taking all the time that is needed. Generally they wish to do something that will benefit others more than themselves, so many of them may decide to be nurses, teachers or help out in some form of charity or service. The main issue that Hufflepuffs have with going toward what they want is that leaving the past behind scares them. They have a piece inside of themselves that wants to stay young forever, and just be loved and cared for. This doesn’t make them cowardly, it just means they may be the last of a group to move out of their parents’ house or to move away from all of their friends if it is necessary, as their shy tendency will make it difficult for them to easily bond with others in wherever it is they may go. Many Hufflepuffs wish to go to college, but they can be a bit carefree about it, and sometimes forget about the expenses involved. Luckily their trustworthy reputation will mean that their family and friends are often willing to help them out in this area, even if the forgetful Hufflepuff may forget to pay them back.

Ravenclaw

A career tends to be the main driving force in a Ravenclaws entire life, so generally by the time they are an adult they already have a full plan as to what they wish to do. They often have specific fields of interest, such as psychology or literature, and they focus everything upon this. They often excel in whatever field it may be that they have chosen, and will have no problem finding themselves work wish such an impressive record. A majourity of Ravenclaws will go to college, and know exactly which college they want to go to and why. They will have already applied for numerous scholarships before being out of highschool, and have all of their credits in order to be eligible for the highest awards. Ravenclaws are often eager for this new chapter in their life, which may bother others around them as it may make them seem uncaring. This isn’t coldness though, and they will always keep in contact with their friends and family, they’re just all excited for the new intellectual opportunity and the idea that their goals are just that much closer.

Slytherin

Slytherins tend to be split on the career table, as they can easily go either way. They are by nature very ambitious, but also very self-conscious. Due to their ambition they also tend to go toward more booming careers, ones that can be difficult to get into, such as lawyers, doctors or actors. Many Slytherins can have a drive above all else to get them through and to where they want to be in their line of work, but others can start to get the idea that they are, a. not good enough or b. there’s some conspiracy against them and they are never going to get anywhere because of it. Due to this the house with the highest number of dropouts is Slytherin. Slytherins who do go to college will be sure to apply for every scholarship opportunity they can, because they refuse to let anything stand in the way of they want, lest it be themselves.

Hufflepuff

Gryffindor

Gryffindors are hopeless romantics, and all for extravagance and over-dramatization. They do want that Romeo and Juliet, tragic type of story, except in theirs, both them and their partner of choice actually surviving would be ideal. They like the idea of forbidden romance, or anything else that feeds their need for adventure. A simple, calm relationship is not the type of thing that interests them, as they always feel the need to keep the fire burning. They will often give you surprises, but they also expect them in return. They like varying things, from an indulgent night out to a simple surprise moonlight picnic on the beach, if you give them something they aren’t expecting after what due to their emotional force is bound to be a day full of stress, they will simply melt into you and feel the love between the both of you, and two will become one. If you keep them pleased in this manner, Gryffindors are one of the best types of lovers you can have, as they are incredibly loyal in their romance, saving any shred of lust in their body all bottled up and waiting to unleash the Lion onto you. Their sex drive is beaten perhaps only by those of the Slytherin house, and though they like to keep things in bed traditional they do like to mix up the setting. This could mean just candles or renting some suite for a night or two, but if you are constantly change where all the action happens, they are bound to feel they are exploring new parts of your body, something that the both of you will enjoy very much.

Hufflepuff

Hufflepuffs are a bit like honey, sweet and sticky to the point that once they lure you in with their indulgent scent then you will be stuck to them for a long time, if not forever. They are very agreeable lovers and do not ask for anything to ever be too fancy, though they do at times want it. The main goal with a Hufflepuff is that they expect you to know what they want, and their patience will give you plenty of time to figure out just what that may be, but don’t take too long or decide that if they can wait they don’t need it at all, or they will quickly shut you out. You need to know your Hufflepuff’s needs and act upon them, and sometimes they need to be caressed and pampered. Hufflepuffs have a sweet tooth and this affects their sex drive, and you may be able to find the wilder side of them by experimenting with foods in the bedroom, but aphrodisiacs also work best for them, so strawberries or chocolate are a sure way to get your Hufflepuff ready for the rest of your night’s endevours.  Maintaining a relationship with a Hufflepuff is very easy, as normally they are peaceful and only want the best, keeping everything at peace. So long as you shower them with the occasional gift or compliment and keep them feeling loved and fluffed, they will always be yours.

Ravenclaw

A relationship with a Ravenclaw is a process, and you must be ready and willing to accept that process if you truly want to be with them. Ravenclaws are often cold and comfortable being alone at first, so getting to talk to them is the first goal, and once they are comfortable with you then they will begin to slowly open up, at which point you will have to gain their trust in order for them to want a relationship with you. Once this relationship starts, you will find it is a very comfortable one, as Ravenclaws rarely feel the need for anything fancy or extraordinary, as if they have deemed you worthy of their love that means that they are happy just with the idea of spending time with you, even neither of you talk. Just a night in bed with both of your noses in a good book and snuggling up sounds like a perfect time. As far as dates go, they tend to think that the simple dinner and a movie night will suffice, they don’t need you to go out of the way to make them feel indulged, and often they may feel guilty if you do. Ravenclaws are all for intellectual stimulation, and conversation is usually a good way to get their sex drive started. Just a sensible talk with meaning and a few drinks are enough to get them ready. Extreme kink isn’t really their type of thing, though their fetishes are varied and unique. Ravenclaws know exactly what they’re doing in bed, and they will make sure to find the best ways to make it enjoyable for the both of you.

Slytherin

A relationship with a Slytherin is a roller coaster, and be strapped in for the ride if you believe yourself prepared for it. Slytherins are cynical by nature but their ambition makes them great flirts, so while they may seem incredibly interested in you they rarely are, and it will take a long time before they trust you enough for a serious long-term relationship. Once a relationship does start it may have it’s fair share of bumps, as Slytherins are very emotional and often a bit self-loathing, so they may see themselves as doing things that are wrong while you think they are perfect just as they are. This will cause them to either give up and actually do things that are questionable, or shut you out under the self-convinced belief that you are bitter against them. The best way to avoid this is to fully convince your Slytherin that you love them, and their need for indulgence is extreme, so in order to do this it is best to go all out. Find a way to point out all of the key things that they like, to show how amazing you think they are as a person, as ego boosts are always a great thing for a Slytherin. They will feel much more warm and deep within you, and this will rekindle your romance. This cycle repeats quite often, which while it can be seen as something negative, it also means your relationship will never be boring. One trait that a snake symbolizes is a great sex drive, and Slytherins prove this quite well. They are up for anything and their ambition and fire shows in bed. They like to mix things up in various ways, and kink will keep them going throughout the entire night, if you can keep up.

Huffleclaw, once again :)
